An easy way to chipping the golf ball.

The most important part in chipping is to swing the clubhead at a descending angle, with the clubhead behind the hands. There's really no one way on how to chip a golf ball. But, these are the very basic steps. At impact, the shaft and body must be leading towards the target. The hand and wrist action should be minimal. Imagine the clubhead is shoving the ball into the ground. This action will pop the ball up. Remember to lean the body, lean the club shaft, keep your hands ahead and descend into the impact area of the golf ball. Also try to always pick the shot with the best odds. Don't try to fly it to the hole when a bump and run will do. A miss hit bump and run can still turn out good. Make sure you acclerate your chipping stroke when you hit the ball and do not use your wrist. The wrist will cause your bump and run chip shot to be very inconsistant. Make sure you don't use your wrists. Practice. Learn the feel and how far to take the club back for different distances.

So to sum it all up... A short back swing with a good follow through will help. Remember if you slowing the club down or stopping right after you hit the ball it will not work. You must accelerate the club as it hits the ball. Once you get that down the harder you swing the more back spin.
